Or a Good Book!
Some days I am at wits end with trying to manage my family. I have found that advice from others, who have spent a lifetime gaining insights as they have raised their children, has been heaven sent! In my struggles to keep my head clear I have found some sound advice that has made parenting and family management easier and more joyful. I hope they help you also.

"Parenting A House United: Changing Children's Hearts and Behaviors by Teaching Self Government" by Nicholeen Peck
She also has a wonderful set of cd's on teaching self-government. I listen to them in the car and have implemented everything I can remember. I highly recommend this!

"The Power of Positive Parenting: A Wonderful Way to Raise Children" by Glenn Latham

Richard and Linda Eyre Books:
"Teaching Your Children Values" by Richard Eyre and Linda Eyre
"Three Steps to a Strong Family" by Linda Eyre and Richard Eyre
"Teaching Your Children Responsibility" by Richard Eyre and Linda Eyre
"Teaching Your Children Joy" by Richard Eyre and Linda Eyre

I cannot say enough good about Richard and Linda Eyre. I love their parenting methods and they have a wonderful (and large) family. I love their views on values in parenting and have implemented many of their techniques in my parenting.

"The Five Love Languages also of Children" by Gary Chapman, Ph.D and Ross Campbell, M.D.
This book is very helpful because if you know your child's love language you can communicate with them better and understand where they are coming from. A friend of mine has made a board and it shows what each family member's love language is and it is posted in their house. She said this helps greatly because they have clearly defined how each person feels love from the others.
