Understand the World and Universe Around You
Science is the search for truth and what really is. It is established upon principles of observation and experimentation. Endowing our children with an understanding of the scientific method is a core foundation in their education. The Oxford English Dictionary says that scientific method is: "a method of procedure that has characterized natural science since the 17th century, consisting in systematic observation, measurement, and experiment, and the formulation, testing, and modification of hypotheses." A simple way to teach your children to use the scientific method is to use the following system:

1 - Ask a Question
2 - Do Background Research
3 - Construct a Hypothesis
4 - Test Your Hypothesis with an Experiment
5 - Analyze Your Data and Draw a Conclusion
6 - Communicate Your Results

There are great resources for science and we have found that doing experiments teaches children many things on top of the scientific data they formulate such as reading, writing, patience, the ability to observe, a curiosity of the world around them and a love of learning in general.

Much to be Discovered
Our world is a world of technology and scientific advancements and there are more and more discoveries and technologies being uncovered each day. Your children can be the generation which discovers more than any previous generation. Whether it is the vastness of space, the microscopic world or the depths of the oceans and earth, we have information instantly at our fingertips that would have taken the great scientists of the past countless hours of travel and research. We are standing "on the shoulders of giants" as we move forward and if you allow your child to participate in the knowledge and discovery of our modern world, your child could make a fantastic impact on our society.
