Understand Where We Are
Geography is the study of the Earth and its lands, features, inhabitants, and phenomena. Four historical traditions in geographical research are:

1 - the spatial analysis of natural and human phenomena (geography as a study of distribution),
2 - area studies (places and regions),
3 - study of man-land relationship, and
4 - research in earth sciences.

Modern geography is an all-encompassing science which engages to understand the Earth and all of its human and natural complexities—not merely where objects are, but how they have changed and come to be.

Geography is divided into two main branches:

Human Geography which is the study of human use and understanding of the world, the spatial differentiation and organization of human activity and its interrelationships with the physical environment.

Physical Geography which deals with the study of processes and patterns in the natural environment like the atmosphere, biosphere and geosphere.

A solid foundation in Geography gives your child an understanding of where they are in relation to the large world around them and is an integral part of Thomas Jeffferson Education, Charlotte Mason Education and Classical Education.
